During the course of 2006, the need arose to provide solutions that aligned to the local qualification Framework - to serve the requirement, Masterskill established a SAQA focused division with the business. During the first project (the alignment of the end user offering to the local qualification) it was decided to design an encompassing solution that incorporates the following components :

1. Detailed mapping document of content against qualification
2. Mapped Learner Guide for the learner
3. Integrated Facilitator Guide for the facilitator / instructor
4. Integrated Assessment Guide for the Assessor
5. Where necessary, a learner workbook

As all of the above components were specified as a requirement by SAQA for any training that was to take place in line with the SAQA qualification, all had to be developed before the solution could be launched. The end result of the development for the EUC qualification was 21 Learner guides, 21 Facilitator guides, 21 Assessment guides and 1 workbook. On completion of all the guides and mappings for the EUC qualification, the full offering was taken through to the ISETT SETA (local body with SAQA and government) for approval. The solution was given the highest level of approval and Masterskill was requested to map and align additional qualifications.

Aligned Qualifications

With the success of the End User Computing Qualification, a decision was made to go through the same development process for other SAQA qualifications. Masterskill has just completed the development of the guides and the mapping for the following qualifications :

• Contact Centre Operations (NQF level 2)
• Contact Centre Support (NQF level 4)
• Contact Centre Management (NQF level 5)
• New Venture Creation (NQF level 2)
• New Venture Creation (NQF level 4)
• End User Computing (NQF level 3)
• Technical Support (NQF level 4)
• Project Management (NQF level 4)
• Business Management (NQF level 5)
• FET Marketing (NQF level 4)

In relation to both of the above SAQA qualifications, Masterskill has also facilitated the local development of courseware relating to the Fundamentals for each of the qualifications. The Fundamentals cover subjects such as communication, numeracy, literacy, etc and form part of each qualification that is to be trained.
