Course description

Overview: This course is designed for the non-programmer who wants to learn Web application

development with NetObjects Fusion. Fusion is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Web

development program. Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and other Web programming languages is not

necessary to create successful Web sites using Fusion. You drag and drop objects on a Web page, and

Fusion creates all the code for you. This course introduces students to the tools necessary to create their

own Fusion Web sites.

Prerequisites: This course is designed for the student who is familiar with browsing the Internet and is

proficient working in the Windows environment. No prior programming or Web development is required

to take this course. However, a student who is not familiar with basic computer and internet technology

will benefit from taking the “Technical Introduction to the Internet” course. To ensure our success, we

recommend you first take the following Element K course or have equivalent knowledge:

Technical Introduction to the Internet

Delivery method: Instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured handson

activities.

Benefits: Students will learn how to create Fusion Web sites by working with text boxes, graphics,

tables, and links. They will also analyze the HTML and JavaScript code automatically generated by

Fusion to create the students' sites.

Target Student: Students enrolling in this course should be proficient working in Windows 95, 98, or

NT. They should also be skilled at browsing the Internet.

What's next: NetObjects Fusion 5.0 Advanced. Students who take the Introduction Level course will

want to take the Advanced level course where Fusion will be explored in depth.

Performance-based objectives

Performance-based objectives help students learn the material and enable the instructor to observe that

the objective has been successfully completed by each student. Upon completion of this course, students

will be able to:

Discuss the advantages of using Fusion in your Web design after learning about Fusion's

features.

Create a new site in Fusion.
