Hardware/software required to run this course

You need Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a or later, Windows 2000 Server or

Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and the Windows 2000 Server Resource Kit. You will need one

computer for the classroom domain controller and one computer for each student and the instructor.

Each computer should have at least 128 MB of RAM, a 2 GB hard drive, and a Pentium II 166 MHz

processor. You’ll also need a network card in each computer and the appropriate network cable. We

recommend that you mini-net or otherwise isolate your classroom from other portions of your network.

See your reference manual for hardware considerations that apply to your specific hardware setup.

Overview: Students will learn how to migrate from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000.

Target student: Students enrolling in this course should understand how to administer a Windows NT

4.0 network and Windows 2000 and Active Directory.
